Ridgewood Blaze Hits Apartment

Flames broke out inside an apartment above a pharmacy in Ridgewood last Thursday morning, Apr. 24, it was reported. Fire Department sources said the inferno ignited at about 11:30 a.m. inside a third-floor dwelling on Fresh Pond Road near 68th Road, above A.J.’s Ridgewood Chemists. More than 10 Fire Department units responded to the one-alarm blaze along with EMS units and two 104th Precinct officers, who reportedly helped bring several residents to safety. No serious injuries were reported. The pharmacy has since reopened.
