St. John’s Prep Wins Ladies Volley Title

The St. John’s Prep Red Storm volleyball teams captured the Brooklyn Diocese Division II varsity and junior varsity championships for the fourth consecutive year by defeating the St. Edmund Prep Eagles in hard fought matches. After completing the regular season with a perfect 11-0 record, the varsity defeated St. Edmund’s in straight sets by a score of 25-12, 26-24 and 25-17. Coach Jennifer Cocchi after the game said how proud she was in how the team played throughout the season. The Red Storm Varsity will now advance to the City A Championship. Not to be outdone, the Red Storm junior varsity, coached by Lisa Cavanagh, also won their match by straight sets with scores 25-23 and 25-18. Coach Cavanagh complimented the team on the total team effort it took to capture the championship.
