Man shot in Auburndale on Independence Day to survive: NYPD

A 21-year-old man who was shot four times in Auburndale on Independence Day is expected to survive, according to the NYPD.

The man was shot four times in the leg and groin areas during a dispute with an unknown perpetrator at about 5:56 a.m. Saturday on 189th Street and Hollis Court Boulevard, according to a police spokesman.

The perpetrator fled on foot in an unknown direction and a firearm was discovered at the scene, the spokesman said. The victim was taken to New York Hospital Queens and is in stable condition.

The investigation was ongoing, the spokesman said.
