IHOP offers free Red, White & Blue Pancakes to veterans

IHOP is honoring and saying thank you to veterans in a sweet way today.

In honor of Veterans Day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. the international pancake house will serve a stack of Red, White & Blue Pancakes – which consist of buttermilk pancakes topped with glazed strawberries, blueberry compote and whipped topping – free to veterans and active duty military members.

“Having served as an Army Ranger and infantry officer, I am proud to be part of a brand that honors the brave men and women who have dedicated their lives to keeping us safe and free,” said Darren Rebelez, president of International House of Pancakes LLC. “We are looking forward to having our nation’s heroes as guests at their local IHOP, and personally thanking them for their service.”

To enjoy the free stack of fluffy hotcakes, veterans and those currently serving in the military simply have to show proof of military service.

Proof can include a U.S. Uniformed Services ID Card, a U.S. Uniformed Services Retired ID Card, a Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), a veterans organization card (i.e. American Legion, VFW, etc.), a photograph of yourself in U.S. military uniform, wearing uniform, DD214, military dog tags, and citation or commendation.

Veterans in Queens can get their free flapjacks at the following IHOP locations:

  • 73-01 Northern Blvd., Jackson Heights;
  • 170-19 Hillside Ave., Jamaica; and
