Police look for man who followed woman into her Astoria building

ASTORIA – Police from the 114th Precinct were looking for a man who followed a 21-year-old woman into her building’s lobby and tried to push his way into her apartment early Tuesday morning, according to the NYPD. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled the building in the vicinity of Broadway and 36th Street, police say.

The suspect was caught on surveillance camera. Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man, between the ages of 30 and 35, and just under 6-feet-tall, wearing a backpack.

He was last seen wearing a long dark colored overcoat, a light colored shirt with another light colored shirt wrapped around his head.
