The chain known for serving breakfast, lunch and dinner 24 hours a day, 7 days a week will finally open its first Queens restaurant in Jackson Heights.
Denny’s first announced it would be opening a location in the borough in May 2014. The diner will be housed at a relatively new commercial building at 87-10 Northern Blvd., which is also a home to a Chipotle, Dunkin’ Donuts, Children of America Day Care and medical offices.
Rebecca Lynch, a spokesperson for Denny’s, said that while the store is “tentatively” scheduled to open this year, the company is not releasing a specific date. Property manager Jaime Contreras told the Jackson Heights Post that the restaurant was expected to open in three months.
Denny’s is probably best known for its breakfast offerings, which include a menu of items ranging from $2 to $8. Harold Butler and Richard Jezak first opened a donut stand in 1953 called Dany’s Donuts, which became Denny’s in 1961. Now, there are more than 1,600 locations all over the world.
A Denny’s was opened in Manhattan’s Financial District two years ago and offers a $300 breakfast that includes two Grand Slam breakfasts and Dom Perignon champagne, according to the NY Post.
