Police are searching for a man who withdrew a total of $3,778 from six different bank accounts across Astoria and Brooklyn in March and April.
The suspect, described as a white male last seen wearing a dark-colored hat and a beard, is responsible for hitting up several banks across Queens and Brooklyn and using stolen credit cards to make transactions.
His first hit occurred on March 25 at 10 a.m. when he made unauthorized transactions from a 39-year-old male victim’s checking account at a Citibank located at 25-91 Steinway St. The individual withdrew approximately $503 from his account, police said.
On April 12, at approximately 8 a.m., the suspect made unauthorized transactions from a 46-year-old male victim’s debit card in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He withdrew approximately $530 in total from his account.
The suspect made four unauthorized transactions on April 28 alone. At 12:01 a.m., he used a 55-year-old male victim’s Federal Credit Union debit card at several ATM machines in Queens and Brooklyn to withdraw approximately $1,053 in total from his account, police said.
At 1:16 p.m., he took a total of $403 from an ATM in Brooklyn. Police said he used a 50-year-old male victim’s Citibank debit card.
Just two hours later, at 3 p.m., he made unauthorized transactions from a 29-year-old female victim’s debit account using her personal information from a TD Bank located in Brooklyn. He withdrew approximately $483 in total from her account.
He used a 29-year-old male’s debit card just an hour later to withdraw $806 from an ATM in Brooklyn.
