1. Queens Comfort: The land of a thousand poached eggs

If eggs are your go-to brunch food, Queens Comfort is the place for you. With 11 creative poached egg dishes including Fried Green Tomato Benedict and Breakfast Lasagna Benedict and sweet options like Oreo brioche French toast complete with Oreo stuffing and Oreo breading, there’s something for everyone.
2. The Queens Kickshaw: Boozy brunch with a lot of cheese

At first glance, the brunch menu looks like a good mix of of starters and entrees but a closer look reveals an all-vegetarian menu. Starters include avocado toast, gouda grilled cheese with black bean hummus and guava jam. Choose from a variety of entrées including layered potato cake, ranchers’ eggs with jalapeño cornbread and guacamole, mac ‘n’ cheese with gruyère, cheddar and smoked mozzarella and Shakshouka, a north African dish with sunnyside-up eggs in a roasted tomato and chili pepper sauce. A $20 prix-fixe menu includes one entrée, one drop coffee and a cocktail.
3. Vesta: Your hangover brunch

With menu items like eggs in purgatory and hangover pizza, this Italian restaurant and wine bar is perfect for the day after a boozy night. The breakfast sandwich is served with a twist – fennel sausage, peperonata sauce, herbed ricotta and fontina replace more traditional items like American cheese and ketchup. Eggs in purgatory consists of sausage, eggplant and tomato sauce baked with two poached eggs, grana and toast. Brunch-goers looking for classic lunch items can also order the Vesta burger or choose from four varieties of pizza.
4. Fatty’s Cafe: Caribbean flavors complete with a patio

Though this spot closed in 2013 after years of service, it’s back at a new location complete with an outdoor patio. In addition to classic brunch items like pancakes and breakfast burritos, Fatty’s serves up a wonderful variety of Dominican and Cuban dishes like Mofongo – Caribbean-style mashed plantains with onion and pancetta, stuffed with choice of shrimp, ground beef or queso blanco, Cubano sandwiches and the Dominican Sunrise – two fried eggs, served with fried Dominican queso blanco, salchichon, tostones and sautéed red onions. The $17 price tag includes a choice of mimosa, Bloody Mary or limeade.
5. Sanfords Restaurant: Seafood selections

If you’re a fish lover, Sanfords Restaurant has an eclectic array of fish items on its brunch menu. Connecticut Bluepoint oysters, grilled calamari and octopus salad and yellowfin tuna tartar are among the starter options. The $18 prix-fixe menu includes crab cakes Benedict and smoked wild salmon Benedict. The restaurant also offers unique items such as a gouda-stuffed duck burger, crunchy Thai chicken wraps or crispy duck confit and waffles.
