Fallen tree suspends LIRR Port Washington service

By Patrick Donachie

The MTA suspended service on the Long Island Rail Road Port Washington line Monday after a tree fell on the tracks east of the Flushing station.

The LIRR announced in a status update shortly before 5 p.m. that LIRR trains in both directions were suspended. NYC Transit was cross-honoring tickets on the 7 train at the Flushing Main-Street station and Woodside, at 61st Street.

The Port Washington line services Queens customers with stops in Woodside, Flushing, Murray Hill, Auburndale, Bayside, Douglaston and Little Neck.

The MTA was also cautioning riders that there were delays averaging 20 to 30 minutes in both directions east of Jamaica due to “weather-related signal trouble.”
