The Center for the Women of New York will hold its 8th annual Walk for Women in Fort Totten Park this Saturday.

The walk is dedicated to the fight for equal pay for equal work, domestic violence prevention, low-cost career exploration programs, free legal clinics, free job clubs and ending sex trafficking.

Ann Jawin founded CWNY in the 1980s as an organization designed to give women the resources they may need to achieve full equality in American society.

CWNY currently operates out of space in Kew Gardens and building #207 at Fort Totten in Bayside.

Registration for the walk will be at building #207 where it will start at 9 a.m. and participants will be asked for a $15 donation. Donations of $20 receive a walkathon T-shirt.

The walk is scheduled to end at about 12:30 p.m. with a light lunch.
