Two men and a woman robbed a Jackson Heights jewelry store on Tuesday night and roughed up the owner in the process, it was reported.
On Nov. 29 at 7:04 p.m., the trio entered Kunal Jewelers at 37-08 74th St. wearing dark clothing and hoods covering their faces, an NYPD spokesperson said.
Two suspects displayed silver firearms and the female said, “Don’t move, don’t push the panic button.”
All three suspects stole jewelry from display cases and the female went to the back of the store and stole money from the safe. It was not immediately clear how much jewelry or money was stolen.
According to the NYPD, the owner was struck with the butt of the gun and police found blood at the scene. NBC New York reported that an employee tripped the alarm in the back before the perpetrators fled.
Various media outlets originally reported that hostages were taken, but those earlier accounts were unfounded.
The suspects were described as either Hispanic or light-skinned black. The incident is under investigation.
