Police are looking for duo who stole jewelry worth thousands at Astoria shop

A man and a woman entered a jewelry store in Astoria on Monday and stole two rings worth $7,000.

The duo entered Almaz Brothers Jewelers at 35-13 30th Ave. at approximately 5:40 p.m., police said. They asked an employee to pull out rings from a display case, stills from video footage show, and pulled two rings worth $7,000.

The pair fled the store to an unknown location.

The man is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches and about 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, police said.

The female is described as a white woman, approximately 21 years old, 5 feet, 5 inches and about 140 pounds.
