Cops from the 114th Precinct in Astoria responded to a call about an assault and instead found several guns, ammunition and a plethora of drugs including cocaine, heroin and prescription pills.
On Jan. 22 at approximately 1:30 a.m., officers drove to a three-story apartment building in the vicinity of 21st Street and 24th Avenue to inspect a complaint.
Once at the apartment, they saw a male retreat into an apartment on the first floor once he saw the cops, according to Captain Peter Fortune, commanding officer of the 114th Precinct.
When officers entered the apartment, authorities said, they saw guns and a large amount of drugs scattered throughout the apartment. The man in the first-floor apartment then fled through a window and entered an apartment on the third floor.
Cops entered the third-floor apartment, where they arrested the man along with five others. Officers obtained search warrants for both apartments and found three guns including a .40-caliber Sig Sauer semi-automatic, ammunition, cocaine, heroin and prescription pills.
