Police need the public’s help in finding a robber in a surgical mask who held up a Chase bank in Woodside earlier this week.
The NYPD released images on Wednesday, Feb. 1, of the suspect involved in the caper that took place at 10:10 a.m. on Monday morning, Jan. 30, inside the Chase bank located at 59-26 Woodside Ave.
According to law enforcement sources, the perpetrator — described as a Hispanic male believed to be 25 years of age, standing 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds while wearing a blue surgical mask on his face and a black bubble jacket, a black cap, blue jeans and dark-colored gloves — approached the counter and handed a demand note to the teller.
In the note, police said, the crook demanded cash and claimed to have a firearm in his possession. No weapons were displayed, it was noted.
Seconds later, the employee provided the suspect with $908 in cash; the bandit then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
Officers from the 108th Precinct responded to the robbery; there were no injuries.
