Woman yells that she ‘hated Asians,’ then smacks man with her umbrella on a bus in Flushing

Police are searching for a woman who made a hateful remark before assaulting a man with an umbrella while riding the bus in Flushing earlier this month.

On March 7 at 11:30 a.m., the female suspect pushed a 68-year-old male victim on board a Q20 bus. She proceeded to tell the victim that she hated Asians, then struck him on the head with her umbrella.

Following the incident, the assailant exited the bus at Main Street and Kissena Boulevard.

The incident was reported to the 109th Precinct; the victim suffered pain but did not require hospitalization.

Law enforcement agents described the suspect as having light skin and wearing glasses. She was last seen wearing a red baseball hat and a coat.
