An apparent dispute ended in gunfire on a Long Island City on the Fourth of July, according to police.
At around 9:03 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, an unknown man engaged in a dispute with a 35-year-old man near 38-38 Vernon Blvd. The dispute turned physical and the suspect pulled out a gun, shooting the victim in the leg and in the abdomen.
Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene and the victim was transported to Cornell Medical Center for his injuries.
The suspect is described as a black man, aged 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing a black short sleeved shirt, black shorts and black sneakers.
