Astoria man assaulted and robbed at home: NYPD

A 29-year-old Astoria man was beaten and robbed inside his own home earlier this month, according to police.

The victim, who was not identified, was involved in a verbal altercation in his residence on 12th Street with an unidentified man whom he invited to his room, police said.

The suspect allegedly assaulted the victim and forcibly removed his wallet containing cash and credit cards before fleeing the scene, according to the NYPD. The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention, police said.

The suspect was caught of surveillance video wearing a white T-shirt, dark color pants and white sneakers.

Police described the suspect as a 32-year-old black man, who is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and 180 pounds.
