BAYSIDE — NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad was investigating the death of a pedestrian on the Clearview Expressway late Friday night.
The male victim was crossing the northbound side of the expressway from east to west when a 49-year-old Peterbuilt truck driver struck him, according to police.
The victim was removed by EMS responders to NewYork Presbyterian Hospital of Queens, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
NYPD said the truck attempted swerve when the driver saw the victim in the road, but ended up hitting him with the passenger side fender.
The victim’s identify had not been released and the investigation was still ongoing, according to police.
