Cops are looking for a duo who recently robbed two men in a Long Island City playground and forced one of the victims to withdraw money out of his bank account for them.
At 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, police said the two victims, ages 23 and 24, were confronted by the two unknown male suspects at John Murray Playground, in the vicinity of 45th Avenue and 11th Street. After engaging the victims in conversation, one of the men lifted his shirt, revealing a gun, and demanded the victims’ property.
The victims complied and handed over their wallets and cellphones. Law enforcement sources said the suspects then forced the 23-year-old man to visit the Palace Fried Chicken, located at 44-45 21st St., and made him withdraw $100 from the ATM.
Following the incident, authorities said, the thieves fled southbound on 21st Street. The incident was reported to the 108th Precinct.
Police described the suspects as black men in the 20s. The first suspect, who can be seen on the surveillance video, was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, blue jeans and red sneakers. The second suspect was last seen wearing a black and white varsity style jacket, black sweatpants and black sneakers.
