Put a rink on it

It takes a week, more or less, to put a hockey rink in the middle of a baseball stadium. So, work is underway at CitiField, home of the New York Mets in balmier months, to lay down a deck and the ice in time for the NHL Winter Classic. It is an annual hockey event, one game a year, played outdoors no matter the weather, on New Year’s Day. This year, the 10th edition of the Winter Classic is being played in New York — an all-state affair between the New York Rangers and the Buffalo Sabres.
