Note-passing thief takes off with over $2,000 from a Maspeth bank: cops

Cops are looking man who robbed a Maspeth bank by passing a note to the teller on Wednesday afternoon.

On Feb. 7 at 3:50 p.m., officers from the 104th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a robbery at Chase Bank, located at 69-55 Grand Ave. An unknown man had entered the bank and passed a note demanding cash to the teller.

The teller complied and handed over $2,271 in cash. The suspect then fled the scene down 69th Street on foot. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 30s. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
