Make Your Mark with a Watercolor Class — Ashton Agbomenou will teach an adult watercolor class demonstrating how to use lines, shapes and colors to render an image. Bring an image you would like to paint during the two-hour session. Supplies will be provided and beginners are welcome.

The Art of Chinese Paper Cutting — Teaching artist Emily Mock will guide participants to create paper cuts related to the leaves, plants, and flowers in Queens Botanical Garden’s collection. This workshop for adults and children ages 10 and over will be led in both English and Mandarin. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Citizenship Application Assistance Day — Future crime fighters and forensic scientists will enjoy using facts and evidence to solve the mystery and find out what happened at the scene of the crime.

Con Brio Ensemble — Make it a day for music when the clocks spring ahead. Pianist and co-founder of the ensemble Diana Mittler Battipaglia is joined by Alexander Meshibovsky (violin), Alan Hollander (oboe) and Osceola Davis (soprano) for a spirited afternoon performance in the intimate setting of the museum’s late 19th century parlor. The program includes music by Dvorak, Mozart, Quantz, Rachmaninoff, Rossini, Still, Schumann and Wieniawski.

The Dragon King — The award-winning Tanglewood Marionettes will demonstrate the basics of marionette puppet manipulation. Participants will be provided with marionettes for the duration of the workshop and learn movement techniques to express emotion. Each puppet has been handcrafted and is uncostumed and unpainted to showcase the construction and joining techniques used when building marionettes.
