Suspect breaks into Astoria apartment and takes a senior man’s television: cops

Cops are looking for a crook who broke into a 79-year-old man’s Astoria apartment and walked away with his television and other personal items.

According to police, at 7:45 p.m. on May 5, an unknown man gained entry into the victim’s apartment, located in the vicinity of 31st Avenue and 37th Street, by forcing open the apartment door. Once inside, the suspect stole the victim’s television, briefcase and hat.

The incident was later reported to the 114th Precinct.

Police described the suspect as a man with a dark complexion who was last seen wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
