Cops hunt for suspect in connection with robbery of Astoria bank

ASTORIA — The NYPD was searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred last week at an Astoria bank.

It was reported to police that on Saturday, Sept. 8, at approximately 10:40 a.m., an unidentified male entered Alma Bank at 41-02 Broadway and handed a bank teller a note demanding money. The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot eastbound on Broadway toward 42nd Street with approximately $3,000.

Police described the suspect as approximately 30-40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, Hispanic with a light complexion, brown eyes and a slim build who was last seen wearing a blue polo, blue jeans, black shoes and a black baseball hat.
