Celebrate Veteran’s Day at St. John’s University — Theresa Sareo will be performing a tribute to veterans, followed by a ceremony and light refreshments. RSVP by calling 718-990-5892.

Sowing Memories & In Your Wildest Dreams — Created by local husband and wife artists Hitomi Matsui and Kenneth Burris, the exhibit was inspired by their travels. Opening night is from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through December.

Light & Beat — Watch and listen to Korean drumming at Light & Beat. This event at Flushing Town Hall features three master drummers and a Korean fiddle player.

Italian Charities of America Flea Market — Vendors will be selling books, toys, clothes, jewelry, Christmas gifts and more. Breakfast and lunch will also be sold.

Church on the Hill Harvest Festival — Prepare for the holiday season at Church on the Hill Harvest Festival. This event includes homemade jam and jelly, Christmas crafts and gifts, raffles, baked goods and more! There will also be an opportunity for pictures with Santa and family pictures.

Honor Fallen Heroes — Come learn how World War I affected Queens from author and historian James E. Haas, based on his work to Honor Fallen Heroes, which is a study of 650 men from College Point who served in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps and Merchant Marines.

“The Tale of the Missing Man” — Come learn about a book that won the Global Humanities Translation Prize! Manzoor Ahtesham will be discussing his book “The Tale of the Missing Man” along with translators Jason Grunebaum and Ulrike Stark. The story explores Muslim life in the 1970s and ‘80s.
