Three people were recovering from injuries they sustained when a car crashed into a building in South Richmond Hill early Thursday morning, police said.

According to law enforcement sources, at about 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 3, a 23-year-old woman driving a Honda SUV was traveling northbound on 122nd Street at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle near Liberty Avenue.

The vehicle then jumped the curb and smashed into the Salco Furniture Store at 121-23 Liberty Ave. Authorities said the woman and two passengers — a 22-year-old female and 41-year-old male — were taken to Jamaica Hospital by EMS.

The operator of the vehicle is in critical condition with head injuries, and the passengers are in stable condition, police said.

An investigation was ongoing, police said.
