Fatal shooting in St. Albans on Saturday leaves 51-year-old man dead; suspect sought

Police in St. Albans are searching for a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 51-year-old man on Saturday night.

The victim, Sherman Walker of Francis Lewis Boulevard, was shot multiple times at the corner of 204th Street and Murdock Avenue at approximately 6 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Officers from the 113th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting a person shot and found Walker with gunshot wounds to his neck, abdomen, and left leg.

EMS rushed him to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

It was the 113th Precinct’s first homicide of 2025; the command had seven murders in 2024, according to CompStat.

So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
