Queens Community Board 5 — which represents Ridgewood, Maspeth, Middle Village and Glendale — will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, May. 8, with a public hearing on the City Of Yes for Housing Opportunity Proposed Zoning Text Amendments.

The City of Yes for Housing Opportunity is a zoning reform proposal that would address the housing crisis by making it possible to build more housing in every neighborhood, according to NYC Planning.

The board meeting is scheduled to take place at Christ the King High School, located at 68-02 Metropolitan Ave., and begins at approximately 7:30 p.m.

CB 5 Chair Vincent Arcuri, Jr. is scheduled to give his monthly report, in addition to a report from District Manager Gary Giordano.

Routinely, another public forum and committee reports are scheduled for this month’s board meeting. Old and new business will be discussed toward the end of the meeting.

Nominations for the executive committee positions will also be shared and discussed towards the end of the night.

Anyone wishing to speak to the board during the public forum portion of the night is asked to pre-register. To pre-register, prospective participants are advised to call CB 5 at 718-366-1834 or email at qn05@cb.nyc.gov.

The board will conclude the meeting with a discussion on old and new business. The CB 5 meeting will be live-streamed on YouTube and posted on the CB 5 homepage.
