It’s spring and that means it’s sheep shearing time at the Queens Zoo.
The annual event is set to take place this Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
During live wool-processing demos, zoo-goers can watch Jacob’s four-horn, Suffolk and mini Southdown breeds of sheep lose their winter coats with the help of an expert shearer.
There will also be the opportunity to learn about sheep and wool, as well as felt bead and bracelet crafting. Professional wool spinners will perform demonstrations on both days.
