A Matter Of Faith

The Rev. Congressman Floyd Flake chose the church last year over his successful life as a politician.
His decision changed the political face of the Sixth Congressional District. But it was a move the Congressman had to make because of his faith.
The Allen AME new cathedral figured mightily in Cong. Flake’s decision. He will be spending much of his time raising funds for the glittering, new facility.
But he will also strengthen the charitable and entrepreneurial aspects of the Cathedral’s mission in southeast Queens.
Cong. Flake represents one of the largest black middle class communities in the east and is seeking to expand it further.
