Visitors and New Yorkers alike are invited to come to Queens to explore the diverse heritage and rich history this borough has to offer during this winter’s Insider’s Hour program featuring unique one-hour tours of New York City’s cultural organizations.
Through March 31, 68 of New York’s most exciting museums, zoos, performing arts centers and historical sites throughout all five boroughs have featured Insider’s Hour tours – special one-hour explorations of the finest treasures each has to offer. Participating Queens organizations include American Museum of the Moving Image, Kingsland Homestead, New York Hall of Science, Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum, P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, Queens Botanical Garden, Queens Museum of Art, and Queens Zoo
See more than two dozen costumes worn by actor Robert DeNiro in films such as Casino, Raging Bull and Goodfellas at the American Museum of the Moving Image or go to “The Short Century: Independence and Liberation Movements in Africa,1945-1994,” a landmark exhibit at the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center. The tours are perfect for the culture lover in all of us.
“Whether you have limited time in the city, are squeezing as much as possible into your trip or are visiting on business or for a convention, Insider’s Hour tours are the perfect way to enjoy New York’s cultural treasures,” said Cristyne L. Nicholas, president and CEO of NYC & Company, the city’s official tourism and marketing organization. “There’s never been a better time to spend an Insider’s Hour at one of our outstanding cultural institutions.”
Insider’s Hour is produced by NYC & Company and sponsored by Fleet and Delta Air Lines. Entrance fees, programs, days and times vary. Call individual organizations for full details.
