Queens Council on the Arts will hold a workshop on fundraising for individual artists and arts organizations, presented by Kate Taylor, development officer for the New York Foundation for the Arts on Tuesday, from 6:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m.
The seminar, held at the Free Synagogue of Flushing, 41-60 Kissena Blvd., will begin with a general overview of various funding sources and kinds of support for arts organizations and artists. QCA will then provide in-depth focus on how to strategically your grant proposal sfor each foundation and corporation to which attendees would apply.
Taylor will lead participants through an example of fundraising for a program — from developing prospects, to writing, to following up — in order to illustrate strategies of cultivation. Participants will learn how to convince a foundation or corporation that your program is what theyíve been dreaming of funding.
This event is part of Queens Council on the Arts’ Art Builds Community program, a series of technical development workshops and round table gatherings designed to strengthen and support the Queens arts community.
