An important zoning meeting for College Point will be held at the Poppenhusen Institute on Aug. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The topic of discussion is the zoning survey done by Queens volunteer Paul Graziano. The developers and builders are changing the flavor of our community. If you are happy with that, then stay at home and be content with what you are going to get. If you are interested in rezoning then the community must get behind this project.
Last week my family and I went on a trip to the Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. The main exhibit hall this year is all about the brain. This will help you understand something about yourself and your fellow human beings. I recommend you put it on your list of things to do this summer. For more information, call 718-699-0005 or visit their Web site, www.nyscience.org.
There will be a dog show and ice-cream social Aug. 6 at 6 p.m. at the First Reformed Church.
St. Agnes Academic School at 13-20 124th St. in College Point is offering a series of seven high school entrance exam (co-op) prep classes for girls and boys beginning Thursday, Sept. 25. For information or an application, please call 718-353-6276, ext. 18.

There will be a delicious menu of choice hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, salads and soda. Cash bar is available. Help support a great charitable program.
Sabina says… Hope all are having a good summer and remember there are great things to do indoors — bowling, museums, Hall of Science, etc.
