Fook Moy, 50, was charged with child endangerment after the 6-month-old's mother reviewed footage captured by a computer Web cam the family used to keep an eye on their son while they were away at work, Sgt. Bob Anderson said. The child's mother was tipped off by some inexplicable bruises she observed on the infant's body almost six days after Moy began working as a live-in nanny at the couple's Roslyn Harbor, L.I., home.”The morning of the 8th around two in the morning the mother of the victim saw bruises on the baby on his wrists and ankles and shoulder,” Anderson said. “She didn't know why they were there, but she knew they shouldn't be there.”As she reviewed the images stored on the computer's hard drive, the mother was horrified, police said. Moy, who had been recommended by friends of the family to fill in while their regular nanny was on vacation, was seen covering the infant with a pillow and then hitting him with a closed fist, Anderson said. The recordings, which were reviewed by police, also showed Moy taking the baby by the shoulders and shaking him, Anderson said.”This should not have been,” Anderson said. “It's inappropriate behavior.”Moy, of 44-11 Macnish St., was arrested Saturday after officers reviewed the family's recordings.Speaking through her brother, who translated from Chinese, Moy told police “she was just trying to calm the baby down,” Anderson said.Doctors at North Shore Hospital examined the infant, who was not seriously injured, Anderson said. Moy was released on $500 bail, Anderson said.
