St. John's holds volunteer open house

St. John's Queens Hospital will be recruiting volunteers to assist its staff to achieve its mission. Different volunteer positions are available in several areas of the hospital, including the emergency department, peri-operative area and gift shop.
Open houses will be held at the hospital, located at 90-02 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst, at the boardroom located on the second floor. They will take place on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, September 14 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. All are welcome. St. John's Queens Hospital, established in 1861, offers multiple inpatient and outpatient services at its Elmhurst location and at the St. John's Queens Family Health Center at Rego Park. St. John's provides basic diagnostic services in addition to adult, women's, and children's medicine. Furthermore, services include treatment of conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and asthma and clinics in dermatology, orthopedics, surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, and podiatry. Social work services and nutrition counseling are also available. St. John's has a state-of-the-art catheterization unit and the emergency department is a cardiac care center.
