Drew Emil Danon

Drew Emil Danon passed away on March 12. He was 28 years old.
Danon, born on December 2, 1978, grew up in Manhattan before his family moved to Bayside. In sixth grade, he starred in the lead role for his school play, “Little Shop of Horrors.” At 14, he worked at the Bay Terrace YMHA as an aide and lifeguard while at the same time instructing swim classes for disabled children at the Little Neck YMHA. Danon also worked in various eateries in the Bay Terrace area. He was known for his kind and thoughtful demeanor.
Later, he attended Pace University and majored in Drama at Nassau Community College where he was in another play, “Free to Be You and Me.” Most recently, he was studying Accounting at Queens College while managing a restaurant at LaGuardia Airport.
In his spare time, he enjoyed taking cruises, karaoke and animals. He loved food, and enjoyed cooking and eating.
Always popular with women, Danon was loved by all who knew him.
He was a loving son to his mother, Roberta, wonderful son to his stepfather, Sy, and a fabulous big brother to Austin. He was a warm and compassionate grandson to his grandparents, Carl and Pearl Rosenthal.
A chapel service was held at Sinai Chapels. Interment was held at Beth Israel Cemetery.
