State Senators Serphin Maltese (left) and Frank Padavan (right) congratulate Queens County Republican Party chairman Phil Ragusa, after a State Supreme Court decision confirming his election.
On Tuesday, June 12 the court dismissed a suit filed by four dissidents challenging Ragusa’s election, saying, “[I]nternal issues arising within political parties are best resolved within the party organization itself and judicial involvement should only be taken as a last resort.”
After hearing of the decision, Ragusa said, “We as Queens Republicans have to move on from this litigation united and committed to the retention and expansion of our Senate majority by working toward the successful re-elections next year of Senators Frank Padavan and Serf Maltese.”
