The Queens Community House at Pomonok Center, in collaboration with the Residents’ Association, celebrated programs and activities for children, teens, and seniors with a “summer kick-off” on Friday, June 15.
In addition to a five-day-a-week free day camp for children ages 5-12 and teen and “leadership in training” programs, the groups announced that yoga, aerobics and computer classes would be open to seniors - both residents and neighbors - for a modest fee. The 10-session classes are $40 for computers, $30 for yoga and aerobics.
Community organizer Amy Tam-Liao said, “We worked closely with Sheena Sukhraj, the Youth Services Director, on our summer program. They are all very popular - there’s already a waiting list for the day camp.”
