North Shore Towers Attorney Errol Brett is one of the newest people to occupy an office in the arcade.
Brett first started working with the Towers in 1984 when he was hired to represent the tenants association when the complex was in the process of converting to a cooperative. He was then hired at the general counsel in 1987.
Previously, Brett had offices in Manhattan and Great Neck. He said that there are countless transactions at the Towers and that it was difficult for people to get to his other offices at times.
The board had recommended that he do as many closings on-site as possible. Brett said that he used to do them in the management office, although there was not as much privacy and he did not have a support staff.
As of October 1, Brett has been located in his own office in the arcade of Building Three. He is joined by Staryl Casey and Jennifer Brett.
Since moving into his new office, Brett said that hundreds of people have come into his office and wished him luck, with many saying that he should have made the move sooner.
“I’m pleased that the community is happy with the move, and I am happy with the move,” Brett said.
Brett said that the new location has also made it easier for him to answer shareholder questions related to cooperative ownership, since they can bring in the documents for him to look at.
“It’s certainly been a…win-win for me, and hopefully the community feels the same,” he said.
Along with representing North Shore Towers, Brett still represents other buildings in Riverdale, Long Beach, Bayside and Manhattan.
