Two men, who have dedicated their lives to the service of their community, took a big risk to be of service once again.
Retired firefighter and 9-11 veteran John DeStefano, and FDNY Lt. Kenneth Napa, were eating lunch at The Green Dragon restaurant in Throggs Neck at approximately 1:07 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, when the wife of a local pharmacist ran into the popular eatery and announced that a robbery was in progress next door.
Napa and DeStefano sprang into action, going into Lawler Drugs, at 4105 E. Tremont Avenue. Both men witnessed the attempted robbery in progress, as the suspect, Raymond Ferranti, allegedly demanded that the pharmacist put drugs in a bag.
