Two incidents of gunfire rock quiet neighborhood

A Queens youth sits in a Riker’s Island cell facing 15 years in prison, charged as the gunman in a bullet-riddled chase down a quiet College Point street.
According to Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown, local residents reported gunfire at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, in the vicinity of 9th Avenue 122nd Street in a residential section of the north Queens neighborhood, in the 109th Precinct.
Witnesses allegedly reported that a man with a gun was chasing another man, firing repeatedly, and property owners found damage in the immediate area.
According to the criminal complaint, a second floor window of a house and the windshield of a parked car on 123rd Street near 9th Avenue were shattered, and that another car’s tire went flat immediately after the sound of a gunshot.
Detectives from the 109th Precinct said they recovered 9-millimeter bullets from the dashboard of one car and from inside the tire of the other. They also recovered five shell casings from such a weapon around the shooting scene, in the area of 122-19 9th Avenue.
According to cops, Eleazar Atlixqueno, 18, said that a group of men were banging on his front door, so he grabbed a gun and went out to confront them.
He allegedly told cops that all but one man fled, and that he chased that man down the block, firing repeatedly. He also allegedly admitted to damaging property.
At his arraignment was charged with three offenses, including criminal possession of a weapon. If convicted of that charge, he could be sentenced to 15 years in prison and would have to submit a DNA sample.
Atlixqueno was remanded to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is due back in court on Monday, August 25.
In an unrelated incident, police are still seeking information about random gunfire at 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, August 10.
Unknown persons fired six shots in front of 7-30 124th Street, not far from the other incident. Nobody was injured. The investigation continues.
