TD Bank to open two new branches

Customers looking for banking options in Flushing and Forest Hills will soon have two new banking options, as TD Bank is set to open new locations in those communities on May 16 and May 17, respectively.

Following TD Bank Financial Group’s acquisition of Commerce Bancorp Inc. on March 31, 2008, TD Banknorth and Commerce Bank merged on May 31, 2008, to become TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank. Currently, it has 18 locations in Queens.

“TD Bank is committed to providing Queens with convenience, legendary service, personal attention and key locations,” said TD Bank Market President Peter Meyer. “The openings of our new Forest Hills and Flushing locations reaffirm our dedication to this market and strengthen our ability to serve both our retail and commercial customers.”

The first grand opening celebration will take place at the Flushing branch, located at 56-50 Main Street, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the day, the community will be treated to free food and refreshments, balloon artists, games, music and the chance to win $500 in cash and a $1,000 shopping spree.

The next day, May 17, the TD Bank team will move to their new Forest Hills location at 63-54 108th Street and have a grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to the free food and fun, a steel drum band will entertain the crowd from noon to 3 p.m.

“We are THE bank in Queens for civic and community groups and not-for-profits, and as we grow, we remain committed to serving and giving back to the local community,” Meyer said.

The new TD Bank stores will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
