Met in the Parks concert

On Friday, July 24 at 8 p.m. this year’s free Met in the Parks concert in Queensbridge Park, along the East River, 41st Avenue and Vernon Boulevard, features John Moore, baritone and Ashley Emerson, soprano with Vlad Iftinca, pianist. The will perform a recital of selected arias by Rossini (The Barber of Seville); Donizetti (Daughter of the Regiment and Don Pasquale); Mozart (The Magic Flute); Straus (Die Fledermaus); Rodgers and Hammerstein (Carousel) and Bernstein (Candide); Damon Gupton, host.

From Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, New York City’s oldest and largest, the 31st Annual Thunderbird American Indian Mid-Summer Pow Wow is at the Queens County Farm Museum, 73-50 Little Neck Parkway in Floral Park. Featuring three days of intertribal Native American dance competitions, over 40 Indian Nations are represented.
