Police warn of con men

109th Precinct

Cops say that two con men posing as utility workers are preying on the elderly in Flushing. At about 1 p.m. on Friday, April 16, the duo ran their scam in the vicinity of 30th Avenue and 146th Street.
At 2 p.m. the next day, the pair, described as male Hispanics approximately 35-years-old, convinced a homeowner near 41st Avenue and 143rd Street that they “had to check out the outlets.” When the homeowner went with one, the other removed cash and jewelry from the bedroom.
Police remind you that utility workers always have photo ID and “No ID, no entry,” should be your rule.
