Man from Astoria stole woman’s purse: Brown

ASTORIA — A suspected purse snatcher was arrested last week, the Queens district attorney’s office said.

Malcolm Figueroa of 12th Street was arraigned on a robbery charge May 11, according to the DA’s office. On May 10, he passed by a woman at the corner of 27th Street and Queens Plaza South around 2:30 p.m. and grabbed her purse, the criminal complaint said.

When the victim’s husband came in to intercede, Figueroa allegedly fled and dropped the purse, according to the complaint.
