State Sen. Jose Peralta (D-Jackson Heights) has raised about $600,000 in contributions this year and spent almost as much between Jan. 1 and July 15, according to reports from the State Board of Elections.
This money encompasses both Peralta’s earlier campaign in March to win the seat, which was left open after Hiram Monserrate was ousted in February for assaulting his girlfriend, and Peralta’s current re-election campaign to win a full term as senator.
Jackson Heights attorney Richard La Salle is running against Peralta and has raised $17,398.49 and spent $13,069.06.
State Sen. Toby Stavisky (D-Whitestone) faces three challengers in her re-election run: lottery winner and philanthropist Isaac Sassoon and lawyer John Messer, who are both running as Democrats, and dairy executive Robert Schwartz, who is running as a Republican.
Stavisky has raised $262,818 and spent $10,931.
Sasson has not raised any funds, but has spent $146,693.
Messer has raised $172,907 and spent $115,295.
Schwartz has raised $1,300 and spent $1,136.
State Assemblyman Jeffrion Aubry (D-Corona) faces off against a fellow democrat, Anthony Miranda, in his bid for re-election.
Aubry has raised $72,101 and spent $27,655.65.
Miranda has raised $33,455.08 and spent $15,291.32.
There is no Republican candidate in the race for the Corona seat.
