Police were searching for clues in the latest murder to rock southeast Queens.
Officers responded to a 911 call around 11:20 a.m. last Thursday and found a man dead in front of a house at 105th Avenue and Liverpool Street in Jamaica. The man, who some bystanders identified as Paul, was declared dead with a gunshot to the head by EMS crews, police said.
Police identified the victim Tuesday as Paul Jacobs.
Neighbors crowded around the taped-off area of the block as investigators combed the scene.
“I just came home and saw the guy dead in the middle of the street,” said a man who lives in the house next to where the victim was found.
No suspects were named and the investigation was continuing Tuesday.
A man who identified himself as Mike and a friend of the victim said the victim lived nearby at 97th Avenue.
“I feel terrible,” Mike said after he arrived at the scene.
Southeast Queens has seen a surge in shootings over the last year, with many of the victims being shot in the head. The latest incident took place just two blocks from PS 50.
