Police released a photo of a man suspected of robbing two banks over the past month, including one in the 104th Precinct, police said. The robbery came only weeks after the last stickup in the area.
The man, described as a six-foot white man in his 30s, entered the Capital One Bank at 74-11 Metropolitan Ave. in Middle Village March 21 around 11:30 a.m., police said. After demanding cash from the employees, he pocketed the money and fled the scene, police said.
The same man is also suspected of sticking up an Ozone Park bank on March 9, police said. The man entered a Citibank at 156-14 Cross Bay Blvd. at around 11:10 a.m. and also allegedly demanded cash before fleeing the scene.
The man was last seen wearing a grey shirt and a black hat bearing the words “Avon Walk For Breast Cancer.”
The March 21 robbery came three weeks to the day after a man robbed another bank in the 104th Precinct, an Amalgamated Bank at 69-73 Grand Ave., police said. At around 11 a.m., the man entered the bank and grabbed an employee, police said.
The man then stuck an object into the employee’s back to simulate a firearm and then forced the employee to demand cash from a nearby teller, police said.
He then grabbed the cash and then fled the scene, police said.
