Get ready to see a new area code popping up on your caller ID.
Queens has added 929 to its list of area codes.
The new area code went into effect on Saturday, the Daily News reported.
Existing Queens numbers will not change, only new lines and numbers will receive the new area code.
The North American Numbering Plan Administrator (NANPA) has estimated that the 718 and 347 area codes will be exhausted by next year.
Local calls made to the 929 area code will remain local calls.
The 929 area code will serve Brooklyn, Staten Island, the Bronx, as well as Queens.
