Safety device was disabled on elevator in advertising exec’s death: report
Workers of an elevator maintenance company “failed to follow the most basic safety procedures” when they repaired a midtown lift that later went haywire and took the life of an ad executive, officials said today. The Departments of Buildings and Investigation determined that workers of Transel Elevator Inc. disabled the safety circuit controlling the doors on one of the elevators they were fixing at 285 Madison Ave. last Dec. 11, a common practice during repairs. 1 student killed, 4 others wounded after teen gunman opens fire in Ohio school cafeteria
One student was killed and four others injured Monday in a shooting at an Ohio high school. The suspect, reportedly a male student at the school, was caught by police near the Chardon High School campus, located 30 miles east of Cleveland. Ex-club owner tells DA he’s the victim in royal barroom brawl
The ex-nightclub owner who broke a European prince’s jaw with one punch told Manhattan prosecutors today that he was the real victim of a barroom brawl that also injured three of the royal’s pals.
“We were here to tell the truth, to make sure the DA’s office knows that Adam Hock is the real victim. Mr. Hock was the victim of the altercation,” said Sal Strazzullo, Hock’s lawyer, who wants the four aristocrats charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Read More: New York Post
Mom in alleged Rx son-slay sues Bellevue for missing evidence
Gigi Jordan, the pharmaceutical millionairess charged with fatally overdosing her 8-year-old son at the Peninsula hotel in 2010, has sued Bellevue Hospital over a missing sample of her blood — a sample she insists is critical to her defense against murder charges.
